Production team gets revenge with hilarious video after rapper doesn’t pay them
After rapper Sheck Wes allegedly decided not to pay for a music video for his song “Gmail,” production company, Ridge Productions decided to get even.
In a saved Instagram highlight on Pat Ridge’s account, it appears as though the production team took things into their own hands when they released the video that they shot for “Gmail” to rebel against not getting paid for it.

However, it wasn’t long before Ridge Productions was served with a cease-and-desist letter along with a series of very angry DMs from the rapper.
“So, we got a cease and desist from Universal and Sheck was DMing me last night,” Pat Ridge says. “If he would have just asked me nicely and been like, ‘Oh, you guys didn’t get paid? Let me figure that out,’ I would have just taken the video down. But we recorded our own version.”
Because the production company technically owns the footage, they decided to have a little fun with situation.
Titled “Sheck Wes Didn’t Like our Music Video, So We Made This,” takes the footage used in the “Gmail” video and layers hilarious dubbed dialogue over the production team’s serious shots. With weird mouth sounds and ridiculous verbatim, the video definitely paints Wes as the fool.
The video has amassed over 1 million views in about 48 hours. Check out the brilliant diss below.
According to Uproxx, there are 13 people working at Ridge Productions. The video has garnered quite a bit of positive reception, especially from fellow video creators.
