Sherwood successfully fund first album in 6 years, release new song

It's been six years since California indie band Sherwood released what was thought to be their final album, QU, through MySpace Records. Recently, however, the band resurfaced as a trio with an IndieGoGo campaign to fund a fourth full-length album. The band has since surpassed their $20,000 goal and are sitting comfortably over $33,000 with just over two days to go until the campaign's end.

Flashback: Sherwood call it quits

On their perfectly timed Back To The Future-themed campaign page, the band states, “They say if you put your mind to it, you can accomplish anything—and that's exactly what we did. Somehow we were able to write several new songs (via texts, emails & voice memos) that we're excited about. It wasn't easy, but we did it, and now we think it's time to see if anyone is interested in helping us turn these songs into a full-length Sherwood album. Unless of course, you guys aren't ready for that yet… but know this: 'Your kids are gonna love it.'”

Sherwood have also shared a “rough mix” of a brand new track, titled “The Unknown,” their first new material since QU. You can stream that below and contribute to the IndieGoGo page at the link provided above before time runs out.

Welcome back, Sherwood.
