Signals (ex Of Mice & Men, ex A Skylit Drive) premiere “New American Religion”

So often, bands disperse and never get back together. However, this isn’t the case for this classic duo. Today, the brand new band, Signals, composed of Jonathan Kintz and Michael “Jag” Jagmin, premiere their first single “New American Religion.”

In 2007, the members of Odd Project separated. Fast forward 11 years and Odd Project’s bass player and frontman are coming back together once again to create more post-hardcore goodness.

Following Odd Project’s break-up, Jagmin went on to be the frontman of post-hardcore band A Skylit Drive while Kintz joined the band Of Mice & Men as their rhythm guitarist in 2009, but soon departed.

“New American Religion’s” premiere was thoughtfully set to be released today, the 10 year anniversary of Wires…and the Concept of Breathing, A Skylit Drive’s biggest commercial success. Known for having multiple subtle references to the video game, Final Fantasy, Wires…and the Concept of Breathing additionally holds true for many post-hardcore fans today.

To promote their first single, Signals teased fans with this Stranger Things-themed trailer. After months of waiting, listeners seem to be excited to hear A Skylit Drive’s frontman once again.

“It's a statement that calls attention to the atrocious downward spiral our nation has put itself in,” says Jagmin on the new track. “The lack of empathy and understanding amongst Americans has hit a disgusting low. People are quicker to attack those with opposing views and ideas instead of embracing what makes us all great, and that is that we are all in fact different.

While there is no set release date yet, Signals have plans to release a full length album later this year.
