Today, Download Festival announced 17 more artists for their June lineup, which includes Simple Creatures.

The lineup addition confirms the interest Hoppus expressed in a recent interview with ALT 98.7, teasing the possibility of taking the band on the road.

“We definitely want to take it everywhere live,” he shares. “We don’t want to do the normal ‘go play a small club’ thing, so I think we’ll try and do warehouse parties or events…or if someone called up and said, ‘Hey, we have a fashion week party next week in Paris, would you go play it?’ we would go and play it.”

Gaskarth took to Twitter to express excitement over the duo’s first show:

“Legit so excited for Download fest with @simplecreatures — first official gig on the books. It’s gonna be wild and weird and I’m so stoked to get this thing in front of you!!”

The band have two songs released so far: the previously mentioned “Strange Love” and first single “Drug.”

The duo join the Wonder Years and ROAM as the most recent additions. Dinosaur Pile-up, Allusinlove, Queen Zee, Kvelertak, Hot Milk, Lost Society, Nova Twins, the Picturebooks, Graveyard, the Hu, Goodbye June, Vambo, Cloud and Kim Jennett round out the announcements.

The festival boasts heavyweight headliners such as Slipknot, Def Leppard and Smashing Pumpkins, as well as some familiar names such as Halestorm and Beartooth.

Simple Creatures’ debut Strange Love EP drops March 29 with preorders available now digitally and with merch bundles.

Download Festival hits Donington Park June 14-16. Check out the full lineup below, and grab your tickets here.
