Slayer’s Gary Holt calls Kardashians out again over “fashion rip offs”

Back in the summer of 2017, Kendall and Kylie Jenner launched a line of vintage tees featuring their mugs emblazoned across music icons such as the Doors, Metallica, Ozzy Osbourne and more.

At the time,  Metallica’s James Hetfield, Sharon Osbourne and Slayer/Exodus member Gary Holt sounded off on the items. With big sister Kim Kardashian West taking to Twitter today to criticize companies stealing husband Kanye West’s designs, Holt was quick to remind Kardashian West of the hypocrisy in her statements.

Kardashian West began addressing the alleged rip offs on Twitter Tuesday:

“It’s devastating to see these fashion companies rip off designs that have taken the blood, sweat and tears of true designers who have put their all into their own original ideas. I’ve watched these companies profit off my husband’s work for years and now that it’s also affecting designers who have been so generous to give me access to their beautiful works, I can no longer sit silent.

“Only two days ago, I was privileged enough to wear a one-of-a-kind vintage Mugler dress and in less than 24 hours it was knocked off and thrown up on a site – but it’s not for sale. You have to sign up for a waitlist because the dress hasn’t even been made to sell yet.

“This is a way to get people to sign up for their mailing list and make people believe there is some kind of relationship between me and this fashion site. There is not.

“My relationships with designers are very important to me. It’s taken me over a decade to build them and I have a huge amount of respect for the amount of work that they put into bringing their ideas to life. I often plan for weeks, sometimes months, and even a year in advance, and I’m grateful for every fashion moment those designers and their dresses have helped me create.

“So, as always, don’t believe everything you read and see online. I don’t have any relationships with these sites. I’m not leaking my looks to anyone, and I don’t support what these companies are doing.”

Today, Holt shared a screenshot of an outlet covering Kardashian West’s tweets with a headline that reads, “Kim Kardashian goes off on fake knockoffs of her dress in fiery Twitter rant: ‘I can no longer sit silent.’”

The guitarist famously wore a “Kill The Kardashians” shirt back in 2015 (prior to the vintage tee debacle). He brought the phrase back in the midst of his caption, which read:

“‘It’s devastating to see these fashion companies rip off designs that have taken the blood, sweat and tears of true designers who have put their all into their own original ideas,’ So says this dumb fuck from a dumb fuck family with THE longest history of ripping off designers on this earth. Like when they thought NOTHING of taking musicians album covers WITHOUT permission and slapping their faces over them for 120 dollar T shirts, or buying one of each design by a designer (paper trail leading straight to them) then copying them, down to the last thread. Google Kardashian fashion rip offs. Hey Kim, go fuck yourself. #killthekardashians”

Holt has made his disdain for the Kardashian clan abundantly clear over the past few years.

He has shared memes…
