Slipknot have now followed suit with a number of musicians canceling upcoming shows in Asia. The decisions aren’t just for the safety of the bands, but also for the attendees.
In the past two weeks, YUNGBLUD, Green Day, BTS, Marilyn Manson Avril Lavigne and Set It Off all postponed their upcoming shows.
In addition, Disney also postponed the theatrical release date of their live-action Mulan remake in China.
Next, Ultra Music Festival is being “[suspended] until a later date” according to Miami, FL City Commissioner Joe Carollo.

In a statement on social media on March 4, Slipknot announced their cancelations.
In light of global health concerns, Slipknot have decided to postpone their upcoming Asian tour, including Knotfest Japan. While decisions like this are not easy, the safety and well-being of the band’s fans always comes first. Furthermore in this case, the bands and artists, crew and local employees are also equally effected, and as such, this was the only responsible decision that could be made. Slipknot and Knotfest will both return to Asia very soon, and at such time that everyone can be ensured of the best experience possible.

The brief trailer cuts between vocalist Corey Taylor and the live performance.
“From the second it starts, you are willing to do whatever it takes to make this the best show that anybody has ever seen,” Taylor says. “We compare it to jumping out of an airplane with or without a parachute, and you don’t know if it’s going to open to not.”
