Slipknot track gets chilling cello cover from band-inspired masked musician

One Slipknot fan has posted an amazing rendition of the band’s song “Devil In I” that they performed on a cello while wearing a mask.

The song is from the band’s 2014 album .5: The Gray Chapter.

The cellist wears a mask while giving the intense performance which incorporates both strumming and plucking on the instrument in a way that can only be described as hardcore.

The YouTube user SugarCello wears both the masks of Corey Taylor and Shawn “Clown” Crahan. You can see the incredible cover video below.

More Slipknot news

Slipknot are making waves on the Billboard charts with their recently released album, We Are Not Your Kind. The band have beat out Trippie Redd, Billie Eilish, Drake and Lizzo to secure the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200.

This marks the band’s third No. 1 album on the Billboard 200, earning 118,000 equivalent album units in its first week. Out of that sum, 102,000 were album sales.

We Are Not Your Kind was released August 9 via Roadrunner Records and follows the band’s 2014 album .5: The Gray Chapter.

Slipknot saw a major boost in album sales thanks to a concert ticket/album redemption offer that coincided with their recent tour.

The album also marks the first hard rock record to lead the Billboard 200 since 2017 when Foo Fighters’ album Concrete and Gold hit No. 1.

Billie Eilish formerly held the top spot with When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go?.

Slipknot are currently topping the list ahead of Lizzo, Drake, Ed Sheeran, Chris Brown, Khalid and more.
