Slipknot manager still seeks lawsuit dismissal after Chris Fehn complaint

The lawsuit between Slipknot and former percussionist Chris Fehn continues with Slipknot’s lawyer still requesting the case be dismissed after Fehn’s recent motion.

Earlier this week, Fehn requested a judge deny the motion to have his lawsuit against the band dismissed.

It was previously revealed that Slipknot manager Robert Shore requested for Fehn’s lawsuit be thrown out. Shore also requested that he be removed from the lawsuit, denying that he did anything wrong.

Meanwhile, Fehn has accused Shore of cheating him out of profits from Slipknot. He states Shore made decisions that benefited himself instead of Slipknot and was therefore not looking out for his best interest.

Then, Fehn wanted a judge not to remove Shore and allow his lawsuit to continue moving forward.

Now, Shore’s team filed a motion against Fehn’s statement and still want the case to be done with.

Shore’s motion states that Fehn’s complaint doesn’t address the issued Shore raised in his original request for dismissal, saying that it means they must proceed to process his quest. Shore also claims Fehn missed a deadline to submit such an amendment by several days.

You can read Shore’s rebuttal in court documents here. The next court date in the case is scheduled for July 26th.

More on Fehn and Slipknot

Following the lawsuit, Slipknot announced Fehn was out of the group.

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6 and our upcoming shows around the world—our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life. Long live the knot,” they wrote on their website.

Since then, Fehn’s lawsuit has been made public, giving us more insight into his claims.

He is suing for two counts of “breach of fiduciary duty,” one count of “unjust enrichment” and one count of “breach of implied in fact contract.”

Fehn’s lawsuit is against two different versions of Slipknot, Inc., both in New York and Los Angeles. It’s also against Knot Merch LLC,  Knot Touring LLC, SK Productions, LLC; Knot Touring LLC, M. Shawn Crahan(Clown), lead singer Corey Taylor, manager Robert Shore and Shore’s law firm, Rob Shore & Associates, Inc.

The lawsuit also reveals that when he joined Slipknot in 1998 at will, he “reposed trust and confidence in the fidelity and integrity of Crahan and Taylor to operate the Slipknot general partnership for the mutual benefit of the partners.”

It goes on to say he was unaware of the other Slipknot companies that were created and made money.
