Slipknot’s Corey Taylor roasts Adam Levine for “rock music is nowhere” comment

Slipknot’s Corey Taylor went off on Maroon 5’s frontman Adam Levine on Twitter this afternoon. Earlier this week, the pop star made a comment about the future of rock music, saying that the genre isn’t going anywhere. However, Corey Taylor was quick to shut Levine down.

In an interview with Variety, Levine made some insulting comments about rock. Additionally, the frontman praised only hip-hop, claiming that the genre is the frontrunner for all things interesting in regards to musical growth.

“Something unique to this band is that we have always looked to hip-hop, R&B, all rhythmic forms of music, from back when we were writing our first album to now” Levine says. “Rock music is nowhere, really. I don’t know where it is. If it’s around, no one’s invited me to the party. All of the innovation and the incredible things happening in music are in hip-hop. It’s better than everything else. Hip-hop is weird and avant-garde and flawed and real, and that’s why people love it.”

Of course, Slipknot’s own frontman wasn’t having any of it. Corey Taylor answered the call when a fellow angry rock fan alerted Taylor of Lavine’s comments.

In the tweet, Taylor calls Levine a “schmuck” and tells the singer to go back to judging The Voice.

While Taylor’s response burned Levine to a crisp, his fans wasted no time to jump on the bandwagon.

Additionally, Slipknot plan to finish recording their sixth studio album early next year. The album is then expected to be out in the summer of 2019.
