Slipknot debut two 'We Are Not Your Kind' cuts live at tour kickoff

Slipknot kicked off their European tour in Dublin, Ireland last night and they were not playing around. The heavy metal unit said fans were in for some treats. Well, they certainly were. Slipknot live debuted “Nero Forte” and “Birth of the Cruel” last night.

Both songs are cuts from Slipknot’s newest album We Are Not Your Kind. “Birth of the Cruel” released as a single just four days before the release of the album. “Nero Forte” didn’t receive the single treatment but is one of the top streaming songs from the band. It received a music video in December of last year.

Slipknot has had a busy couple of days. They kicked off their tour on Jan. 14 and released a captivating short film titled Pollution. It expands upon the video for “Nero Forte.”

In August of 2019, Slipknot released their latest album, We Are Not Your Kind that reached No. 1 on Billboard 200. This marks their third studio album to claim the achievement, beating out Billie EilishDrake and Lizzo.

On the European tour kickoff on Jan. 14 last night, vocalist Corey Taylor spoke about what the crowd should expect.

“Well, my friends, I warn you now— forget what you’ve heard before,” Taylor says. “Tonight, you are in for some serious fucking treats.” Slipknot then kicked right into “Nero Forte.”

The live debut was the fourth song in the set and sent fans into a frenzy. Another live debut occurred five songs later when Slipknot played “Birth of the Cruel.”

Of course, the songs between those two were hits as well. Slipknot filled the space between the debuts with “Psychosocial,” Before I Forget,” and WANYK single “Solway Firth.” Check out the full kickoff setlist below.
