Other Slipknot news

Slipknot have been busy preparing their upcoming album and teasing us with mysterious posters at festivals.

Now the band have a new project—their very own whiskey.

Slipknot unveiled that they’re releasing their very own craft beverage, No. 9 Iowa Whiskey. It will be available Aug. 10 in select retails and at the band’s Knotfest Roadshow North American tour this summer.

The whiskey can also be bought at select markets across North America before Aug. 10. The band announced the product via social media with a cool video that you can watch via Twitter down below.

A 90 proof bottle will cost $39.99 and a 99 proof will be $69.99. The whiskey is a collab with Iowa-based Cedar Ridge Distillery.

“Slipknot and Cedar Ridge Distillery—two groups of people born and raised in Iowa and committed to quality and hard work,”  M. Shawn “Clown” Crahan said of the partnership. “We collaborated on No. 9 Whiskey, which in addition to Iowa corn, gets some extra spice from its rye content. I hope you enjoy it as much as we do. Live life, and always be safe.”

Also, the owner and founder of the distillery Jeff Quint gushed about working with the band.

“As we came to know the Slipknot guys, we realized we share a lot of the core elements of a good Iowa foundation—these guys are very down to earth, hard working and care deeply about their followers,” Quint says. “Building this whiskey with them was an easy, natural process that resulted in a strong and spicy expression, just the way they wanted it.”

As previously stated, the band have been teasing us. Slipknot unveiled a mysterious poster at this year’s Download Festival that might insinuate they’re planning a tour next year.

In the area where bands post upcoming tours and albums at the festival, a single black rectangle was posted with the Slipknot logo and the words “Live. 2020.”

Many people believe that it means the band are planning another tour next year.

It’s unclear exactly what the poster means, so we’ll just have to pay attention and see what happens in the future with the band.
