Slipknot say ninth member‘s identity is “nobody's f—ing business"

Last week, Slipknot unveiled their new masks in the music video for their intense new track “Unsainted.” Along with that unveiling, fans quickly realized that there was a ninth member in the band.

After the band parted ways with Chris Fehn earlier this year, Slipknot fans began to wonder if the band would leave the percussionist’s spot open or fill it with a new member.

While it looks like that empty void has definitely been filled, it appears that fans may not know the identity of this mysterious ninth member anytime soon.

In an interview with Kerrang!, Corey Taylor and Shawn ‘Clown’ Crahan refused to give up the identity of their new bandmate.

“The position you may or may not be talking about is nobody’s fucking business,” Clown says.

He later adds that it will be up to the fans to decide who the new member is after watching Slipknot perform live, stating “The proof is in the pudding.”

Last week, Slipknot announced the details of their sixth LP along with the release of the first single, “Unsainted.”

“This is most time we’ve had to write a record, and work stuff out together,” guitarist Jim Root says. “One of my inspirations this time around was those artists that recorded full length albums – not just songs.  While the industry is moving toward singles, Slipknot wanted to make an album experience, front to back.”

The official video for “Unsainted” was directed by the band’s very own M. Shawn Crahan and offers a glimpse into what we can expect for the future of Slipknot.
