Slipknot expand on "Nero Forte" video with eerie short film 'Pollution'

Slipknot have shared their new short film Pollution that extends and centers around the “Nero Forte” music video. Both videos share some of the same technicolor hues and mood as the music video.

M Shawn Crahan, better known as Clown, directed the short film and shares his curiosity about existence and reality. Slipknot have been teasing snippets of the film on their Instagram, captioning each post with a “chapter” from the film.

Clown poses the question, “When you lay down in your bed, next to the one you love, do you ever ask yourself – is it possible that this person could slit my throat while I’m sleeping?”

The film opens with “The End” cutting to various, creepy videos, leaving the viewer to interpret the video on their own. About eight minutes in, we see where “Nero Forte” picks up. The film ends with “Death Because of Death” mantra, then cuts to “The Beginning” before it ends.

More on Slipknot

Earlier this past year, the band released their latest album, We Are Not Your Kind that reached No. 1 on Billboard 200. This marks their third studio album to claim the achievement, beating out Billie Eilish, Drake and Lizzo.

Following the major success of the album, the band has a heavy tour schedule, that kicks things off in the U.K. alongside Behemoth. Tickets can be purchased here.

Additionally, Slipknot will be performing at this year’s Sonic Temple Festival, hosted in Columbus, OH alongside Bring Me The Horizon, Sleeping With Sirens, Metallica and Dance Gavin Dance.

As Slipknot heads for their tours, they announced their inaugural cruise tour, appropriately named, Knotfest At Sea. The cruise is set to sail along the coast of Barcelona this summer.

Slipknot will perform two sets during the festival at sea and is set to take place from August 10 to 14. No other bands have been announced to perform as of right now, but you can book a spot for the cruise here.
