Back in October, Slipknot surprised us all when they dropped their first song in almost four years, “All Out Life,” and today, they’ve revealed all the work that went into making the recently released track.

Dropped today, the band gave fans a behind the scenes look on the making of the new track! Check it out below!

A few months back, the band’s vocalist Corey Taylor told Zane Lowe that the track’s a testament to tunes that have stood the test of time, and when asked about the meaning behind the recently dropped tracked, Taylor shared:

“Everybody talks about toxic masculinity and toxic fandom these days. For me, it’s more about this toxic idea that unless something came out 10 minutes ago, it’s not any good, and that bothers me. … I love new music, but at the same time, don’t turn your back on the music that’s been.”

Fast forward to today, the band has officially shared a studio clip of the making of the song, and it’s pretty intense for a minute video! And if we’ve learned anything, it’s that we can’t wait to see what’s to come for the follow-up to .5: The Gray Chapter.

Slipknot’s new album, what we know so far:

Following the release of the track, snippets of information have been coming in about the band’s forthcoming album. While we don’t know everything, we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Most recently, the band’s frontman Corey Taylor teased that he’s going to be entering the studio early next year. But that’s not all, he also teased he’ll be wearing a brand new mask to go with the album.

The title of the band’s sixth studio album hasn’t been revealed yet, but Clown, a.k.a. M. Shawn Crahan recently shared little more insight into the record’s concept.

Crahan explained Slipknot been working on the album since 2016 while it’s not finished yet, they have a bunch demoed songs under their belt…which also includes the forthcoming record’s concept.

“What I can tell you is I’ve known all the words all the time, so I’ve been able to paint the dream world and the nightmare in my mind,” he tells Billboard. “[It] breaks down to…good vs. evil, or in this sense, evil vs. good.”

Additionally, Taylor has also already hinted that the new music is “Iowa levels of heavy.” In fact, the album might be even heavier than that.

In a new interview with Metal Hammer, Taylor has shared some new information on the new songs, saying:

“The way we’ve been describing it is, ‘What if the guys who made Iowa matured? What if the kids who made Iowa grew up?’,” he says. “That’s kind of the way we’re looking at it because some of this shit is so heavy—but there’s melody, there’s really cool melancholic melody going on.”

He continued by saying:

“At a time when most bands are slowing down, I think we’ve written our heaviest song—one of them anyway—on this new album,” he continues. “It’s going to be f*cking crazy. People are going to sh*t their pants when they hear it.”

It was also reported that Slipknot are currently working on their upcoming release, and they already have around 20 demoed songs. Plus, the band has also teased a summer 2019 release date (!!)

It appears that 2019 is going to be a big year for the band, and we can’t wait.
