Slipknot share chilling distorted vocal clip ahead of new album

Slipknot are keeping us on edge ahead of their highly anticipated album, releasing a creepy new teaser yesterday.

Their upcoming sixth studio album still doesn’t have a name, but we do know it’s set to drop Aug. 9. Now, we have even more to speculate on.

The band shared some eerie vocal samples on Twitter yesterday, giving a sneak peek at what the new album might sound like.

The video shows some horror-inspired imagery, with distorted Corey Taylor vocals that could be off the new album.

Our only taste of the follow-up to .5: The Gray Chapter so far was the band’s latest single, “All Out Life,” but the new video should get fans excited for what’s to come in August.

Check out the video below.

The latest album update comes amid a myriad of controversy with former percussionist Chris Fehn.

News broke a couple of weeks back that Fehn was suing Slipknot for the time he spent touring.

Following the lawsuit, the band announced Fehn was out of the group.

“Slipknot’s focus is on making album #6 and our upcoming shows around the world—our best ever. Chris knows why he is no longer a part of Slipknot. We are disappointed that he chose to point fingers and manufacture claims rather than doing what was necessary to continue to be a part of Slipknot. We would have preferred he not take the path that he has, but evolution in all things is a necessary part of this life. Long live the knot,” they wrote on their website.

Since then, Fehn’s lawsuit has gone public, revealing the details of the case.

Fehn is suing for two counts of “breach of fiduciary duty,” one count of “unjust enrichment” and one count of “breach of implied in fact contract.”

The band recently announced The Knotfest Roadshow North America tour, hitting the road this July with Volbeat, Gojira and Behemoth. Tickets are on sale now, with dates below.
