Tech N9ne shouts out Slipknot, fellow maggots in new song

Rapper Tech N9ne recently shouted out Slipknot in his new song, “Like I Ain’t.” According to Loudwire, the song talks about wanting to succeed in rap. Additionally, the bar that features the Slipknot reference details others’ success in different genres.

In addition to Slipknot, Tech N9ne shouts out other popular artists such as 2Pac, Mr. Baywatch and Nelly.

However, Tech N9ne doesn’t stop at the Slipknot reference. Additionally, the rapper mentions the band’s fans to conclude the verse.

You can check out the verse that mentions Slipknot below:

Like I’m tryna be the best up in this hip-hop (Chuh)
And do a track with the king of Atlanta, T.I.P.-top
Then turn around and switch it up, do big rock
Tryna ride all the way up to my homie in Slipknot (Maggot, chuh)

Of course, you can watch the brand-new music video for the song below.

“Like I Ain’t” appears on the rapper’s latest album, N9NA, which was released earlier today. You can pick up your copy of the record here.

While the new song may come as a surprise for many rock fans, this actually isn’t the first time the rapper has mentioned Slipknot. In fact, Tech N9ne collaborated with frontman Corey Taylor back in 2015 on a song called “Wither.”

Next to the Eminem song, it’s my greatest dream come true, man,” Tech N9ne says of the collab in an interview with StrangeMusicInc. I’ve been a maggot since ’99. When I first heard their first LP, it hit me, you know?

You can listen to that song below.

Additionally, Slipknot recently collaborated with another rapper, Kid Bookie. After the pair talked on social media, the two actually made the track together.

Additionally, Slipknot hit the road for the Knotfest Roadshow with VolbeatGojira, and Behemoth in July. You can grab your tickets here and check dates below.
