Slipknot fans gain new evidence of possible Tortilla Man identity

Slipknot fans may have finally have the proof they need to identify the persona of the recently added percussionist known as Tortilla Man.

The theory bases its claim off some video footage taken before Knotfest Mexico. It shows a musician traveling with the band that also has ties to an important member of Slipknot.

Slipknot arrived in Mexico earlier this week for Knotfest Mexico but ended up canceling the show due to some pretty serious safety concerns. But video footage of the band arriving at the airport shows a previously unknown member. There is also footage of the band’s arrival in Costa Rica showing the same man.

Fans began speculating that this unrelated musician must be the Tortilla Man. Tortilla Man joined the band as a percussionist for their tour of We Are Not Your Kind. The main theory of Tortilla Man’s identity began in August and this footage appears to all but confirms the speculation.

Slipknot fans believe the newest member is Michael Pfaff. The footage shows what appears to be Pfaff traveling with the band in both videos. But the real point that drives home the theory is that Pfaff has performed in the band Dirty Little Rabbit. Dirty Little rabbit is a side project of Slipknot founding member Shawn “Clown” Crahan. Crahan is one of the two percussionists in Slipknot. Watch the footage below.

What do you think of this theory? Is that Pfaff in the video? With fans spreading this news like wildfire, we can assume Slipknot will release an official statement regarding the matter soon.

Slipknot

were set to headline last night’s Knotfestin Mexico City but were forced to cancel along with Evanescence due to a broken barricade.

The stage barricade broke during Behemoth‘s set and after a number of failed attempts to fix it, the show had to be canceled.

Both Slipknot and Evanescence have released statements regarding the situation which you can see below.

“Because of a broken barricade and failed attempts to fix it, Slipknot were forced to cancel our performance last night. Safety — especially the safety of our fans and fellow bands — is priority number one. We apologize profusely and hope you all understand. If anything were to happen to any of you, we wouldn’t forgive ourselves. Also, if we could have fixed the barricade correctly, we would have gone on stage. Again, we hope you all understand and we will try to make it up to you as soon as we can,” Slipknot wrote.

The band provided an updated statement about the situation on Sunday. They explained they won’t be able to make up for the cancellation due to the destroyed equipment.

“Due to unforeseen circumstances, Slipknot were not able to perform at last night’s Knotfest.

Security barricades became an issue, and it was decided that for the safety of the fans, neither Slipknot or special guests Evanescence could take the stage.

We had hoped to be able to perform today, but regrettably, a situation arose onstage after the cancellation that damaged or destroyed gear that would have been necessary to play.

We are extremely disappointed that we did not get the chance to perform, but the safety of our fans and our community is our biggest priority. We will look to get back to Mexico sometime in the future.”

Evanescence also commented on the destruction of their gear saying they do not view it as a representation of their Mexican fans.
