Gabrielle Crahan, daughter of Slipknot's Clown, dies at 22

Slipknot percussionist Shawn “Clown” Crahan, has revealed on the band’s Twitter that his youngest daughter, Gabrielle Crahan has died at the age of 22.

Clown’s daughter passed away yesterday, May 18. However, the cause of death has not yet been made public at this time.

In the statement, Clown asks fans to respect him and his family’s privacy.

“It is with a broken heart, and from a place of the deepest pain, that I have to inform all of you that my youngest daughter, Gabrielle, passed away yesterday – Saturday, May 18, 2019. She was 22 years old,” Clown says in a statement posted to the band’s Twitter. “Funeral arrangements will be forthcoming. My family and I ask that our privacy be respected moving forward. Thank you.”

Additionally, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor took to Twitter to share his regrets and thoughts.

“My heart has broken for my brother,” Taylor says in a tweet. “Please keep the Crahan family in your thoughts and love. She will be missed.”

Clown and his wife Chantel had four children together: Alexandria, Gage, Gabrielle and Simon.

Aside from Taylor, no other members of Slipknot or Gabrielle’s family have shared additional statements.

The unfortunate news comes just one day after the band made their first live performance in nearly three years on Jimmy Kimmel Live!. The band recently released the first single from their forthcoming album WE ARE NOT YOUR KIND, “Unsainted.”

We are sending our deepest condolences to Clown and the rest of Gabrielle’s friends and family at this time.
