Some fans think blink-182 and Tom DeLonge are up to something

It looks like blink-182 and Tom DeLonge may be up to something.

Over the past week, Mark Hoppus and DeLonge have shared some interesting posts that have sparked new fan theories.

All of the way back in 2015, Tom DeLonge officially parted ways with Mark Hoppus and Travis Barker. Following the announcement, DeLonge explained that he left blink-182 to explore other opportunities. Eventually, Matt Skiba stepped in to fill DeLonge’s position in the band.

Nearly six years have passed since DeLonge left the punk rock trio. However, some fans are still waiting for the day DeLonge reunites with blink-182. Last year, DeLonge seemingly teased a reunion when he said that blink-182 will play again together “when the time is right.” Soon after this, however, Hoppus said that he was unaware of any sort of reunion with DeLonge.

Now, some fans think DeLonge and Hoppus may be scheming something. Last week, DeLonge took a trip down memory lane and tweeted about an old memory between him and Hoppus. Neither musician has spoken much about each other since DeLonge’s departure in 2015. So, some blink-182 fans found it both refreshing and odd that DeLonge mentioned Hoppus in a tweet.

“One time @markhoppus and I moved all our cars to the driveway of his next-door neighbors house, so our friend that got off work at midnight would pull up and run into the wrong house to meet us to go skateboarding. We hid outside in the bushes and watched. It was really funny.”

As well, a new tweet from Hoppus is truly setting the rumor mill on fire. On Wednesday, Hoppus shared two throwback photos of him, DeLonge and Barker. One photo is meant to represent March 2020 while the other represents March 2021. Some fans are convinced this is a subtle hint blink-182 and DeLonge may be up to something.

Of course, this isn’t the first time Hoppus’ social media has sent fans into a frenzy. Last year, he further confused listeners when he brought up that misheard blink-182 lyric again. Shortly after, he divided fans when he ranked all of blink-182’s full-length albums. He also used social media to settle that never-ending debate about what emo actually means.

Along with all of this blink-182 and Tom DeLonge speculation, let’s not forget both DeLonge and Barker recently teased something regarding Box Car Racer. Back in December, fans were convinced the duo may have something exciting planned for the band’s 20th anniversary. Some even theorize that they may finally drop that unreleased Box Car Racer song. So far, however, both DeLonge and Barker are keeping tight-lipped on if anything is actually planned.

Currently, blink-182 are finishing up with their next full-length album with producer John Feldmann. Last month, they confirmed that the new LP features collabs with Grimes, Pharrell and Lil Uzi Vert and his $24 million diamond face implant.

As well, Tom DeLonge just revealed that Angels & Airwaves are nearly finished with their next album. Over the past few weeks, DeLonge has shared various glimpses of the band in the studio including a clip of an unreleased song.
