When the original trailer for Sonic the Hedgehog dropped back in April, it was met with heavy criticism over what Sonic actually looked like. It was bad. The little hedgehog was weirdly human looking in the face.

Because the criticism was so loud, director Jeff Fowler tweeted about it and delayed the movie to allow for a redesign.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast,” the tweet reads.

The movie was originally supposed to release Nov. 8. Now, Sonic the Hedgehog is set for a theatrical release date of Feb. 14. So, if you’re a big Sega fan, this is the perfect Valentine’s Day idea.

Well, the new trailer features the new and improved Sonic, and boy, are we happy. Check him out below.
