Sonic Temple evacuates venue due to high winds, fans seek shelter — UPDATED
Update — May 19, 2019 at 8:30 p.m. EST
Sonic Temple Festival has resumed after making everyone evacuate the premise.
The weather has passed and it is now safe to resume the festival!
The gates are now open. Foo Fighters are scheduled to perform at 9:00PM.Please approach the gates calmly and safely.

The Foo Fighters are set to still perform at their scheduled time.
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts have had their set time changed, and will still be performing.

According to AltPress correspondents on site at Sonic Temple, other bands that were set to play will not be rescheduled. These bands and artists include Bring Me The Horizon, Chevelle and Distillers.

Sonic Temple Art + Music Festival has asked attendees to evacuate the festival due to unsafe weather.
To backtrack, earlier in the day, one band’s set was cancelled and fans were asked to move from the pit to the stands.

The festival posted on social media that because of high winds, all artists on the Wave Stage had their sets cancelled.
The only artist left to play was on that stage was Scars on Broadway, but fans in the comments of the Instagram post were not happy.

Then, the festival wrote that the field at main stage is temporarily closed and artists will return to perform when it is possible.
The field at main stage is temporarily closed due to high winds. Stadium seating remains open. Main stage artists will resume as soon as possible.

Someone shared a photo of the field and how fans must watch from the stands. You can check that out below.
After that, they completely shut it down due to high winds making the festival grounds unsafe. It does say they plan to reevaluate the situation after some time passes and hopefully, they can re-open the festival. You can see their tweet about the whole thing below.

Audioslave and Rage Against The Machine’s Tom Morello took the stage with System Of A Down’s Serj Tankian to perform a tribute to the late Chris Cornell at the festival, which you can see below.
Also, at the show, Lzzy Hale of Halestorm brought up a young female fan on stage to hand off her guitar to the girl and give her a huge shout out.
