‘Sonic The Hedgehog’ gets demonic in fan-made horror trailer

It seems like since the world got a first glimpse at the Sonic The Hedgehog film, it was all anyone could talk about on the internet.

There was a huge social media outcry because the character’s design was not at all what fans suspected. There was so much backlash that the director announced they will change the design only six months away from the film’s release date.

Now, it seems as though people were so freaked out by the hedgehog that they turned the trailer into a horror film.

A YouTube channel totally remade the trailer, and used clips from Brightburn to make it even scarier. The titular character has a demonic new look that’s almost scarier than the flawed design.

As previously mentioned, the Sega character is getting a redesign in the new film.

Director Jeff Fowler took to Twitter yesterday to assure fans that their complaints haven’t fallen on deaf ears.

“Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear… you aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast,” the tweet reads.

Fowler confirmed that Sega and Paramount Pictures would be changing the design, which many fans hope will convey the character as seen in his numerous video game titles.

Many online personalities have sounded off on Sonic’s design, with some users even going as far as redesigning the character themselves.

The heated debate around the trailer has even caused some familiar faces to express their opinions including Mark Hoppus, Alex Gaskarth and Set It Off’s Maxx Danziger.

With or without the design change, this movie might be worth the watch simply due to Riff Raff’s big screen debut.

The rapper shared the news on Instagram, along with the trailer and how he’s involved with the movie.

The Warped Tour alum has appeared on the soundtrack for films such as Meet The Blacksand Fist Fight, but Sonic marks his “first real movie.”

Riff Raff will have a “small acting role,” two voice-overs and a song on the soundtrack. He also shared praise for Jim Carrey’s role, calling him “the greatest actor of all time.”

“SONiC THE HEDGEHOG THE MOViE STARRiNG JiM CARREY COMiNG SOON .. i Play a Small Acting Role in this movie, also have 2 Cartoon Character Voice Overs that I did and a Song on the Movie soundtrack.. although I have had a Couple Acting Roles in movies and a few Songs in movies like Meet The Blacks my song “Carlos Slim” and Me & Flux Pavilion had a Song in Kevin Hart’s movie “Who wants to Rock” … THiS SONiC movie was my FiRST REAL MOViE THAT i GOT TO BE iN AND ACTUALLY BEiNG ON SET it was Surreal to be on set and watch how FACiNATiNG A REAL movie is Filmed and to Watch The Greatest Actor of all time Jim Carrey in action is Priceless.
