Now, Warner Bros. has set the date of July 16, 2021 as the premiere date for the long-awaited film. It’s definitely a while in advance, but at least we have a date to look forward to. They’ve also released the first poster for the film, which you can check out below.

You can see James sporting the Tune Squad uniform for the first time, and it honestly looks better than we could’ve imagined.

Producer Ryan Coogler (Black Panther) confirmed the follow up to the 1996 crossover hit starring Michael Jordan and the Looney Tunes gang.

“The Space Jam collaboration is so much more than just me and the Looney Tunes getting together and doing this movie,” James told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s so much bigger. I’d just love for kids to understand how empowered they can feel and how empowered they can be if they don’t just give up on their dreams.”

In addition, Terence Nance will be directing the film. Many of the cast has not been confirmed, so it’s unclear if Jordan, Danny DeVito or Bill Murray will reprise their roles.

How excited are you for Space Jam 2? How do you think the sequal will compared to the original film? Sound off in the comments!
