‘Spider-Man’ may only have Tom Holland for one more film

We’ve been enjoying Tom Holland in the role of Spiderman for the past few years, but it looks like his time might be coming to an end.

According to contracts between Marvel and Sony Pictures, the deal with Tom Holland may be up after one more movie.

The contract was originally for six movies in total, with three being part of Disney-distributed Marvel Studios movies and three solo films.

The actor has completed the first part between Captain America: Civil WarAvengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. As of this week’s Spiderman: Far From Home, he’ll also be done two out of three solo films.

The studios could easily sign Holland on for more films which would please fans but after the success of Venom and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, they could opt to try out another reboot.

That move would be a huge discredit to the work the actor has put into his role though. As previously reported, Holland was so dedicated to the role he ended up going under-cover at a real-life high school.

He also expressed interest in continuing the role as long as he is allowed to.

“I’ll do 26 of these if they ask me. I love doing it … I get to travel the world, I get to play a character that I’ve grown up loving my whole life. (Also) I get to work with people in the industry who I consider to be the best,” he said in a recent interview.

As far as his next Spidey movie, Holland revealed he would like to see Spider-Man fight dinosaurs.

“There is a Spider-Man comic where he’s fighting Doc Ock in a private plane and he falls out of the plane into a jungle and then there’s dinosaurs in the jungle and stuff. That’s what James Cameron’s Spider-Man was going to be about. He wrote a Spider-Man script and it was about Spider-Man fighting dinosaurs I think. It’d be like Jurassic Park: Spider-Man Awakening or something like that.”
