During the D23 expo, Disney’s John Lasseter revealed the plot details for Toy Story 4. “It’s a love story with Woody and—and this is news—Bo Peep,” said Lasseter. “At Pixar and at Disney, we only make sequels if we come up with a story that’s as good or better than the original. That’s our rule. We don’t do things just to print money.”
Woody and Bo Peep’s love affair is no secret. Their relationship was brought to light in not-so-subtle ways during the series’ 1995 debut, and was then kindled through the course of Toy Story 2. As ConsequenceOfSound points out, however, Bo Peep was largely absent from the third installment. It will be interesting to see how she and Woody reconvene when Toy Story 4 debuts in theaters June 16, 2017.
Although he is unconfirmed as of now, it’s expected that Tom Hanks will reprise his role of voicing Woody.
