Stacked Like Pancakes fans, rejoice! The band not only reached but exceeded their $100,000 Kickstarter goal, meaning we will finally be getting our hands on that Strange Creatures album!
Ska-rock band Stacked Like Pancakes put complete trust in their fans, otherwise known as the Pancake Nation, by announcing an all-or-nothing Kickstarter project to fund their 14 track album Strange Creatures. With no label to extend them support, SLP took their DIY mentality and kicked it into overdrive by asking fans to become part of their collective “record label” and fund their third studio album produced by multi-platinum record producer Matt Squire (Panic! At The Disco, All Time Low, Boys Like Girls).
The Kickstarter launched February 28 with an initial goal of $100,000. That money would go towards producing, mastering, marketing, manufacturing and distributing the band's new album. This amount of funding would also allow the band to do a lot more such as creating new merch and music videos to accompany the new songs.
The band chose to lay it all on the line by giving their Kickstarter an all-or-nothing mentality, meaning if they did not reach their $100,000 goal, there would be no album.
Pancake Nation came through as the band broke their $100,000 mark last night.
You can watch the band hit their goal during their live stream around the 1:59:00 mark.
Cue the waterworks, our hearts are so full.

“This album means more to me than I could put into words, but that's why I write music” vocalist Kellen McKay tells AP. “I can't wait for the world to hear my story through Strange Creatures.”
There are still a couple hours left to get in your pre-order for the new album AND score some major Kickstarter perks. Click here to snag your copy before the campaign ends at 11AM EST.
