Before premiering the teaser on Friday, director J.J. Abrams stated the movie picks up “some time” after The Last Jedi.

“We’ve passed on all we know, a thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight,” a voiceover from Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) says in the trailer.

If you haven’t checked it out already or simply want to relive it again, you can view the Star Wars: Episode IX teaser below!

While fans debated who the sinister laugh could belong to, Mark Hamill took to Twitter to “solve” the mystery.

“Mystery of who’s laughing at the end of the trailer: SOLVED.#JediJoker”

Hamill sparked the debate by sharing the teaser along with the caption, “It’s not #EpisodeIXFromHisNap or even my suggestion: #EpisodeIXABunchMoreStuffHappens- It’#EpisodeIXTheRiseOfSkywalker! It’s time for the 8 months of speculation to begin. Is that Skywalker KYLO? LEIA? ANAKIN? LUKE? A previously unknown SKYWALKER? Is REY a Skywalker? #CoolTitle”

Hamill’s got jokes.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is slated to hit theaters December 20, 2019.
