‘Star Wars’ Carrie Fisher rumor debunked by Mark Hamill

Mark Hamill has taken to Twitter to do what he does best: debunk false rumors about Star Wars.

His most recent clarification about the franchise is regarding whether or not he calls Carrie Fisher by her real name in a scene.

No matter how often this is debunked-it still comes back. The entire scene was dubbed. I said “There she…”- as in “There she (is)” when I saw her. George would never have allowed me to say “Carrie” even if I wanted to as a joke, which I didn’t. It makes no sense,” Hamill wrote.

Hamill currently stars in Child’s Play and will appear in the final entry in the Skywalker Saga — Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker.

A teaser previously confirmed a lot of fan theories while raising a few more questions in regards to the highly anticipated film. The biggest question however, rises in the trailer’s final moments as a sinister and terrifying laugh surfaced that sounded an awful lot like Emperor Palpatine’s.

“We’ve passed on all we know, a thousand generations live in you now. But this is your fight,” a voiceover from Luke Skywalker (played by Mark Hamill) says in the trailer.

If you haven’t checked it out already or simply want to relive it again, you can view the Star Wars: Episode IX teaser below!

While fans debated who the sinister laugh could belong to, Mark Hamill took to Twitter to “solve” the mystery.

“Mystery of who’s laughing at the end of the trailer: SOLVED.#JediJoker”

Hamill sparked the debate by sharing the teaser along with the caption, “It’s not #EpisodeIXFromHisNap or even my suggestion: #EpisodeIXABunchMoreStuffHappens- It’#EpisodeIXTheRiseOfSkywalker! It’s time for the 8 months of speculation to begin. Is that Skywalker KYLO? LEIA? ANAKIN? LUKE? A previously unknown SKYWALKER? Is REY a Skywalker? #CoolTitle”

Hamill’s got jokes.

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker is slated to hit theaters December 20, 2019.
