'Star Trek Into Darkness' to hit theaters a day early

Star Trek fans: The wait for the next film isn't finished, but the release date is a day closer.

Today Paramount announced that Star Trek Into Darkness will open nationwide Thursday, May 16, a day earlier than originally planned.

Imax theaters nationwide will offer early screenings of the film at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 15.
