This 'Star Wars' porg cake is seriously realistic

For anyone who has seen Star Wars: The Last Jedi, we all know that the film's director, Rian Johnson, has no problem killing off characters. What we didn't know is that statement is true when talking about characters he created himself.

Porgs are the cutest things we've seen from a Star Wars film since Ewoks, and we have to thank Johnson for creating these bug-eyed cuties from Ahch-To. Unfortunately, we also have to thank Johnson for sharing a video of himself slicing through the head of one of these little guys, and we must say, our hearts are broken. The poor guy didn't stand a chance.

In the video Johnson posted to Instagram, the director and his marketing team were celebrating the mega success of The Last Jedi. Don't get us wrong: They definitely should have. TLJ brought in more than $1.3 billion global box-office sales, and we would totally celebrate that amazing feat too…But maybe with a less realistic-looking porg cake.

When Johnson said the cake was “terrifyingly realistic,” he wasn't kidding. In the video, you can see Johnson take a few uncertain cuts into it before really slicing into it, and we can't help but feel our hearts snap at the poor little guy's demise—though, we can guess the cake itself was probably delicious, minus the eerily realistic look to it.

No really, look how realistic this cake is.
