Watch State Champs’ Ryan Scott Graham strip down an MGK track

State Champs bassist Ryan Scott Graham is offering a cover of Machine Gun Kelly‘s debut track from his pop-punk record Tickets To My Downfall“Bloody Valentine.”

He took to his social media accounts to share the clip of him tearing through the track on an acoustic guitar after saying it’s been stuck in his head for a few days.

The song arrived earlier this month and has been very successful in launching the album so far.

Shortly after its release, MGK and Travis Barker gave it its live debut on The Late Late Show With James Corden

Now, Ryan Scott Graham is hitting up TikTok revealing his take on the track.

In his cover, he busts out an acoustic guitar giving the song a slightly softer and raw sound than the original version.

Earlier this week, MGK also shared some behind-the-scenes shots for the song and album’s creation.

The song could have had an entirely different name from the video he shared.

Longtime friend and collaborator Mod Sun also lent a helping hand with “Bloody Valentine”. At 3:33 a.m. one evening, MGK and Mod Sun plugged away at the track and scrapped some words.

“Nah we can beat the whole last cadence– more iconic,” Machine Gun Kelly said.

Beyond this change, Machine Gun Kelly shared his idea for lyrics including, “Bloody massacre tonight.”

“Or just ‘my bloody valentine’ tonight is tight,” Mod Sun replied. The two settled on this final lyric change.

Originally expected in early 2020, Tickets To My Downfall was last moved to this summer.
