Static Dress drop “sober exit(s)” video, announce accompanying comic book
The song marks a new era for the group.November 5, 2021
The project will consist of an album as well as a 28-page comic book illustrated by Tanya Kenny and written by Olli Appleyard.
“sober exit(s)” showcases the band’s post-hardcore abilities while also proving that they are helping usher in a new era for the genre.
The fiery red visual incorporates old TVs, cassette players and a fisheye lens to craft striking and chaotic scenes. Directed by Appleyard, it shows the band members as inverted versions of themselves, in large contrast to the aesthetics of their previous work. This is intended to mark their new era as a band.
The track will be featured on the group’s debut project, Prologue…, set for release Dec. 3. The album has been handcrafted specifically for fans to listen to while reading the accompanying comic book, which will visualize the current lore of the Static Dress universe.

“sober exit(s)” lyrics:
Looks like a little too late now
Wrapped up in tragedy
Choking on the silver spoon that you’re served with
Someone, please tell me
How it tastes
Razor wire pulled between our teeth
Shattered mirrors staring back at me
No compliments from you, I know she’s changed
Steel arms around necks; emptied and desolate
Still can’t gauge the taste that’s on your breath
Undo all mistakes, our final request
Even if it’s fake, it’s real to me
A caught up exchange at everything [Give it up]
Maybe we should slow it down?
Looks like too little too late now
