The bestselling book was just released on May 22, but a 10-episode series adaptation is already in the works, reports Deadline.

Richard Price will pen the script and Jack Bender and Marty Bowen, who worked on the adaptation of King’s Mr. Mercedes, are set to executive produce the show. According to Deadline, King could also be joining the team as a producer.

Media Rights Capital is working on the adaptation and Price will write the pilot before picking a network.

Per Deadline, “The Outsider” tells the story of Terry Maitland, one of Flint City’s most storied citizens, who is arrested and charged with the murder of an 11-year old. Maitland says he was at a conference during the murder, which witnesses confirm, but his DNA is found at the murder scene along with fingerprints.
