Stranger Things' season 4 most likely dropping in 2021

Stranger Things fans might be waiting longer than they like to for the fourth season. Previous speculations hoped we would be getting the show around Summer or Fall of 2020, however, that seems highly unlikely now.

Stranger Things was recently shown to be the highest viewed show on Netflix this past year.

According to TVLine, filming of Season 4 begins in January of 2020 and will hopefully wrap up sometime in August. So with filming ending in late Summer, unless Netflix and the Stranger Things team have the fastest post-production crew in history, it seems unlikely that we will get the show around Fall either.

Realistically, Netflix will be releasing the show sometime in 2021, more than a year after the release of Season 3.

The wait is sure to be agonizing given the cliffhanger that the third season ended on.

Thankfully, fans knew relatively quickly that Netflix picked up the show for a fourth season. We were soon treated to a teaser which hints at some changes to the setting. Check it out below.

Back in July, Matt and Ross Duffer, who are behind the series, dropped a few clues as to what comes next for the show, hinting that it might actually be leaving Hawkins, IN.

The brothers shared the information in an interview with Entertainment Weekly and talked about what it’s like mapping out the next season.

According to the brothers, the fourth season already feels “very different” from season three. They added that they will “open up a little bit” in terms of plot. This means we might be seeing a lot more than just the Hawkins pool and mall.

“I think the biggest thing that’s going to happen is it’s going to open up a little bit, not necessarily in terms of scale, in terms of special effects, but open up in terms of allowing plotlines into areas outside of Hawkins.,” Matt said in the interview.

Now you know that Stranger Things is the most-watched Netflix original series, so if you haven’t watched season three yet, get after it.
