The first teaser for the season was released in February 2020, when creators the Duffer brothers, Matt and Ross Duffer, hinted at the plot for Stranger Things’ fourth season

“We’re excited to officially confirm that production on Stranger Things 4 is now underway—and even more excited to announce the return of Hopper! Although, it’s not all good news for our ’American.’ He is imprisoned far from home in the snowy wasteland of Kamchatka, where he will face dangers both human… and other. Meanwhile, back in the states, a new horror is beginning to surface, something long buried, something that connects everything…

“Season 4 is shaping up to be the biggest and most frightening season yet. We cannot wait for everyone to see more. In the meantime—pray for the American.”

Despite the delay, the Stranger Things crew has still been keeping busy. Matarazzo starred in Green Day’s music video for “Meet Me On The Roof” in 2020. You can watch the visual here. Meanwhile, Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike Wheeler in the series, is currently releasing music as a part of the Aubreys with Malcolm Craig. They released their first EP, Soda & Pie, in 2020 and have recently released the single “Sand In My Bed.”

Brown recently stepped into the world of movie-making as the titular character in Enola Holmes, which will reportedly be getting a sequel, and as Madison Russell in Godzilla Vs. Kong. Harbour also recently starred in Marvel’s incredibly successful Phase 4 release, Black Widow, as Alexei Shostakov, also known as the Red Guardian.
