That Steve, Dustin friendship will continue in 'Stranger Things' Season 3

Although it's hard to pick favorites in a series like Stranger Things, there's no denying that Steve and Dustin’s unexpected friendship is one of the best parts of Season 2. Luckily for us, it looks like their adorable bromance will be continuing into the new season.

In an interview with Glamour, executive producer Shawn Levy explains that we'll be getting “some Steve/Dustin action” in the third season.
Plus, Gaten Matarazzo—aka Dustin—says he wants to see their relationship evolve into something a bit stronger, too.
“In season two, it was all very cute and there was a funny factor to it because it was unexpected, but now that it is expected, I want to see them connect more and be more familiar with each other,” Matarazzo says. “I want them to have a connection like they’ve really had a connection for a year—like they’re brothers.”
And that makes our hearts so happy.
As previously reported, the dynamic duo almost didn't make it into the new season. But we're sure glad the Duffer bros. made it a reality.
“We were in the middle of writing the season when we realized Dustin was also all alone,” Ross Duffer told The Hollywood Reporter. “We realized Steve was also suffering from heartbreak. It was very much in the middle of the season—we're talking about months into the writing—that we decided to put these two characters together.”
And we’re sure as heck glad that they did.
Even though we have to be patient for more details about the upcoming season, we can rejoice in the fact that once they start filming, we’ll be that much closer to binge-watching it.
The new season was officially confirmed late last year, and everyone’s ready for more, and there are already speculations about what'll happen in Season 3. There might even be some hints from the writers and cast members… See everything we know so far here. (One thing we can expect? More ‘80s references. Heck yes.)
Season 2 gave us an unbelievable amount of epic and unforgettable moments. From Chief Jim Hopper’s incredible dancing flashback to when he and Eleven were cleaning up their new hideaway home (which is now an amazing meme), to the new cast members who stole our hearts, we’re just waiting as patiently as we can for Season 3.
