The Stranger Things 2 scene causing controversy on social media, as reported by Teen Vogue, has characters Max (played by Sadie Sink) and Lucas (Caleb McLaughlin) exchanging a kiss during the “Snow Ball” dance at Hawkins Middle School. There's only one problem: As Sink recounts, the kiss wasn't scripted, and she shows her discomfort with that fact in a recent clip from the Stranger Things after-show. Hear her take on the kiss in the below video.

Asked how the kissing scene went down during a behind-the-scenes chat on Beyond Stranger Things, show creators the Duffer Brothers apparently get a little prickly, with Ross Duffer telling Sink it's “all [her] fault.” Um, what? Sink, the 15-year-old actress, fire back that “the kiss was not written in the script.”

“I get there, the first day of filming the 'Snow Ball,' and walking in, I see the decorations and stuff,” Sink says. “Ross, you say, 'Oh, Sadie, you ready for the kiss?' I'm like, 'What? No! That's not in the script… that's not happening.'”

“So the whole day, I was, like, stressed out,” Sink continues of the unscripted kiss. “I was like… Wait, is it gonna happen? Is it not? And it didn't happen that day, but then [it did happen] the second day of filming the 'Snow Ball.'”

Naturally, you can see why folks took to Twitter to voice their displeasure with the matter. “The two grown men that created Stranger Things forced a child to kiss another child while they filmed,” one user tweeted. “Imagine this actress is three years older, and it's unscripted nudity,” says another.
