Suppy Nation Tour (Man Overboard, The Story So Far) moving Nashville venue in wake of controversy

Man Overboard have announced that the Suppy Nation tour, originally scheduled to play Rocketown in Nashville on March 27, will be moving locations in the wake of recent controversy surrounding the venue.

Earlier this week, Hostage Calm spoke out against Rocketown following the firing of a friend of the band for wearing their “I Support Same-Sex Marriage” t-shirt. Since, a representative for the venue has responded to local media outlet, WSMV 4, “Rocketown does not comment on personnel issues, but, generally speaking, an employee would not be fired for expressing opinions on marriage. At Rocketown, we are welcoming and accepting of all youth. We reach out to all kids, are inclusive and very much care about acceptance of youth from different ethnicities, sexual orientations, financial backgrounds and religions”

Of the decision to switch venues, Man Overboard say, “ATTN: We are relocating our show on 3/27 in Nashville, TN. We will not be playing any Rocketown venues. We are working with Mark and Music City Booking to find a “hate free” venue that supports and promotes equality for all. Suppy.”

Stay tuned this week for more responses from the music community.
