Surfer Blood guitarist Thomas Fekete dies at 27

Thomas Fekete, guitarist of indie rock band Surfer Blood, has passed away at the age of 27. Fekete was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer last year.

His wife, Jessica Fekete, has launched a GoFundMe to help with medical costs. “Our sweet Thomas passed on last night, peacefully in his sleep, holding my hand,” she wrote in an update.

“I am full of comfort knowing that he is now free, and long for the day I get to be with him again,” she later added.

Fekete helped form Surfer Blood in 2009. The band have since released three full-length albums and an EP. Below, you can read a message shared on the band’s Facebook page earlier today.
