The band offered an update saying Somekh is at home with her family and Berl’s arm surgery went perfectly while Becker is being transferred to a rehab clinic for the remainder of the year. They’re sharing the address now though so fans can send mail to keep his spirits up as he recovers.
Last week, we learned that Becker was in the intensive care unit following an encounter with black ice in Denver. Two touring crew members, Somekh and Berl, were also injured in the van accident and were receiving treatment as well.
The crew were kicking off a handful of dates supporting Matt & Kim this week when they lost control of their van. The band were on the way to Denver with Somekh and Berl, their photographer and sound engineer respectively.
In today’s update, the band say Becker will be transferred to the rehab clinic tomorrow (November 5). After he ends the year there, he will be moving to a clinic closer to home.
The band are encouraging fans to flood the hospital with mail for Becker to keep his spirits up and have shared the address they can be sent to.
