After bassist Shavo Odadjian teased some images of the band playing in the studio at the end of this summer, drummer John Dolmayan confirmed System Of A Down had already been hard at work writing their new record, which he noted already has 15 “album-worthy” tracks in an interview with Kerrang. There’s no denying that SOAD will be extremely active in 2017, but don’t expect their new material to be similar to previous releases, as the Armenian quad are looking to keep their fans and critics on the edge of their seats. “This needs to be something for a new generation of SOAD fans, so everyone can see we’re not resting on our laurels,” Dolmayan says.
