Taco Bell recalls 2.3 million pounds of beef due to contamination
Taco Bell has voluntarily recalled 2.3 million pounds of beef from their stores after a customer found a metal shaving in their food.
The company issued a statement on Tuesday saying they took “immediate action” on Friday and initiated the recall.

The company says after the complaint, the company stopped the supplier to remove the products from stores and distribution centers and notify the USDA.
The USDA says there are no confirmed reports of bad reactions due to consuming the affected meat. They also released a statement saying that they received three complaints about the issue at hand.
The company removed the product from 100 percent of the affected restaurants in 21 states across the eastern Midwest, northwestern Southeast and Northeast.
Taco Bell said the affected product was from one plant location on only one of two lines used to make the beef. The particular distribution center sent the product to stores in Michigan, Ohio, New Jersey, New York and Virginia.
“Nothing is more important than our customers’ safety, and nothing means more to us than their trust,” Julie Masino, President of North America, Taco Bell Corp., said in the statement. “As soon as we received the first consumer complaint, we immediately acted to remove the product from the affected restaurants and proactively worked with the supplier to inform the USDA of our steps to protect our guests.”
Many Taco Bell locations were out of beef over the weekend as a result of the recall, and people definitely noticed and complained about it on Twitter.
