Yes, Taco Bell is getting rid of even more menu items in 2020
Yes, the rumors are true. Taco Bell is making even more changes to its menu this year.
The new changes include the arrival of the Chicken Chipotle Melt and Dragonfruit Freeze. However, Taco Bell customers will have to say goodbye to the beloved Mexican Pizza, pico de gallo and all of its shredded chicken menu items.

Last month, Taco Bell customers said goodbye to some staple menu items including the Loaded Grillers, 7-Layer Burrito and all potato items. Although the changes are in efforts to make room for new items and make customers’ experiences as quick and efficient as possible, some still aren’t happy.

Now, it looks like Taco Bell is planning to make even more changes to its menu this year. The company announced that it is revamping its menu even further to offset its carbon footprint and make room for future innovations.
Customers will have to say goodbye to a few more menu items starting Nov. 5. To start, the Mexican Pizza is leaving menus to help offset the company’s carbon footprint. Taco Bell claims that the Mexican Pizza packaging “accounts for over 7 million pounds of paperboard material per year in the U.S.”

This also means that the Mexican Pizza combo is being replaced. Now, Combo #8 will include three Nacho Cheese Doritos Locos Tacos Supreme with a large drink for $6.99.
As a staple menu item, customers are not too happy to see this item disappear in particular.

As well, Taco Bell is removing all of its shredded chicken items in November. This means that the chain is ditching the Shredded Chicken Soft Taco, Shredded Chicken Burrito and Shredded Chicken Quesadilla Melt.
Taco Bell also plans to replace its pico de gallo with fresh diced tomatoes.
Despite the items leaving Taco Bell, the chain is introducing some new items this year. Starting Nov. 5, the new $1 Chipotle Chicken Melt will be available to order. As a permanent fixture on the Cravings Value Menu, the melt features marinated all-white-meat grilled chicken, chipotle sauce and cheddar cheese rolled and melted together.

Taco Bell is also launching a new Dragonfruit Freeze. The tropical frozen beverage is swirled with dragonfruit flavor and will be available starting Sept. 24.
Along with this, Taco Bell’s green sauce will be available in some markets this November. The chain is also testing the Quesalupa which it plans to bring back next year.
“Our fan-favorite Quesalupa is finally starting its journey back to menus nationwide next year, kicking off on September 24 with a test in Knoxville, Tennessee. We’ve taken our classic chalupa shell and stuffed it with a cheese blend of real pepper jack and mozzarella so there is delicious melty cheese throughout.”
Taco Bell assures that these latest menu changes are the last to happen in 2020.
Back in August, Taco Bell also revealed its going mobile. Taco Bell plans to build various “Go Mobile” locations specifically for cars and mobile pickup. The Go Mobile locations are to accommodate the changes in dining that have happened amid the coronavirus pandemic. They will include dual drive-thrus, priority pickup and app tracking that lets employees know when you’ve arrived to pick up your order.
