Jack Black and Jack White reunited to record a Tenacious D track

It’s beginning to feel like Jack Black and Jack White are trying to make “Jack Gray” a real thing. After a brief introduction in 2006 and an epic selfie together a couple of months ago, it appears that both jacks have reportedly recorded a Tenacious D song together.

If we’re being honest, it seems like every meeting of the Jacks has lead up to this pivotal point.

They both were are the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards and once Black introduced The White Stripes during a show.

Then, in June, both White and Black found themselves in Europe simultaneously. The duo somehow crossed paths and took a selfie to document the moment.

Tenacious D posted the photo saying “We hired a new merch guy” and it was pretty historic.

Now, during Tenacious D’s Nashville show Sunday night, Black teased the potential collab to fans.

According to the Tennessean, Black addressed the crowd before the band’s encore.

“Jack White,” Black said, “we went over to his house today and recorded a brand new song.”

He also revealed that fans can expect the release via White’s label, Third Man Records, soon.

It’s currently unclear if White will be featured on the track, or if he simply had a hand in producing the Tenacious D track.

Either way, we’re down for another “Jack Gray” meeting and can’t wait to hear this track!
