Bad Books announced their new album—plus, don’t miss a new single from Figure Eight. Check out the news you might have missed today below!

1. Trapdoor Social unveil new music video

Trapdoor Social released a new music video for their previously released single “The Move.” The track was inspired by individuals who want to make the world a better place. The band are releasing a new LP and going on tour later this year. Dates have not yet been announced.

2. The Sonder Bombs drop new track

Following the release of MODERN FEMALE ROCKSTAR last fall, the Sonder Bombs shared a new song, “I don’t have one anymore,” with an accompanying music video. “I’m bored with being told that the men—not just in the music industry but everywhere—are the ones who can actually make things happen in my career or the ones who hold all the power,” vocalist Willow Hawks tells Stereogum. “I’m bored with men giving more men the real platforms and saying, ‘It just worked out that way.’ I don’t really have a threshold for that bullshit anymore.” The trio embark on tour later this month, and dates are below.

3. The Kickdrums releases new single

The Kickdrums (aka Alex Fitts) unveiled his latest single, “Bubblegum,” taken from his forthcoming EP, La Playa. “With this track I was trying to explore new and different combinations of music for me as a producer/singer,” Fitts says. “At times my music may sound like a band, but it’s really just me with a drum machine and some instruments.”  

4. Figure Eight share new song

Figure Eight, the latest project from Ryan Meyers, dropped a new track. “Any Given Flower” is the title track for his upcoming album. “‘Any Given Flower’ is a song that deals with the bleeding pain of being lonely at such a young age,” Meyers says. “Especially while everyone you know is away at college and having these experiences that make you grow and find out new things about who you are that you might have not known otherwise. And all the while, you’re just sad in your basement.” The single will be available to stream tomorrow, and it’s available for presave here. Any Given Flower will drop May 24 and can be preordered here.  

5. Bad Books announce new album

Bad Books are sharing their first album in seven years, III. Additionally, they released two tracks from the forthcoming LP, “Lake House” and “I Love You, I’m Sorry, Please Help Me, Thank You.” The record is set to release June 14 and is available for preorder here. They hit the road this summer for tour across the U.S. All dates are below, and tickets can be found here.

6. Kim Petras adds dates to headline tour

Kim Petras added additional dates to her Broken tour in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Yesterday, she released a new single, “Got My Number,” which leaks the actual number of friend and singer-songwriter Jesse Saint John. All dates of the tour are below, and tickets are available here. Presale begins tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time, and general admission goes on sale Friday, May 3.

7. Tessa Violet debuts emotional new single

Tessa Violet premiered a new track, “I Like (The Idea Of) You,” with MTV. “I was seeing this guy at the time who I knew wasn’t that into me,” she tells the outlet. “And even though I could see that, it was still so much fun to think and obsess about him.” This is Violet’s first release of the year off her forthcoming album, Bad Ideas. She’ll be releasing more singles throughout the year until the full-length drops.

8. Bastille drop new song, announce tour

Bastille are following up 2016’s Wild World with their next album, Doom Days. The band dropped “Quarter Past Midnight” and “Doom Days” previously. Now, they’re dropping “Joy” along with a batch of tour dates. Doom Days drops June 14 and is available for preorder now. Most presales go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time. However, some dates differ.New York and Chicago go on sale May 10 at 11 a.m. local time. Philadelphia goes on sale May 10 at noon local time. Mexico City goes on sale May 15 at 10 a.m. local time.
