Rare the 1975 songs from the Drive Like I Do-era could be on the way

The 1975 formerly went under the name Drive Like I Do before switching to their current title and it looks like the band could be releasing rarities from their time using that monicker.

According to band manager Jamie Oborne, fans could be listening to material recorded by the band under that name in the near future.

In case you didn’t know, Drive Like I Do isn’t the only name the band used prior to settling on the 1975. They also performed as Me and You Versus Them, Forever Drawing Six, Talkhouse, the Slowdown and Bigsleep.

In response to a fan question on Twitter, Oborne says he and lead vocalist Matty Healy have been discussing releasing old material.

The news comes shortly after Healy had to deny rumors of a Drive Like I Do comeback earlier this month.

A website using the band’s logo cropped up online starting rumors they were planning a return. Healy has previously stated the two bands are separate entities and that a debut album is set to arrive at some point. The website was eventually taken down and confirmed as fake.

Previously, the 1975 have shared the singles  “People,” “Frail State Of Mind,” “Me & You Together Song,” “The Birthday Party” and “The 1975” which are all set to appear on the record.

Oborne also let fans know a new song from the upcoming record is on the way.
