The band’s debut album arrived in 2013 but now they’re providing fans with some new information about it.

Fans using the Storylines function got to see exclusive making-of details as the album listening carried out. Spotify offered up an early detail about drummer George Daniel saying “‘12’ was a piece George made on his laptop in its entirety in a Travelodge in Acton while we were mixing the album.”

They’ve been posting a ton of content on their social media accounts as fans are listening along. Frontman Matty Healy is also tweeting info from his personal account adding extra info about his experience today. Notably, he mentions how “The City” essentially shaped their sound as a band.

The band also offered up some nice looking black and white photos along with lyrics for the songs on the album throughout the listening party.

The band’s manager Jamie Oborne also got in on the action by mentioning they will be doing this for every album each Friday leading to the new record’s release.

“Working on the listening parties with Spotify has been full of nostalgia,” Healy said in a statement. “From writing the annotations to getting together old content, it has given me a chance to revisit our old records and relive the making of them. We’re looking forward to sharing these reflections and hope it gives our fans a deeper and more immersive experience of each album.”

The band’s new album is arriving on May 22 after being delayed several times. The original release day was February 21 and later got pushed to April 24 before again delaying to May.

So far, we’ve received numerous snippets of the album. They’ve released  “People,” “Frail State Of Mind,” “Me & You Together Song,” “The Birthday Party,” “The 1975,” “Jesus Christ 2005 God Bless America” and “If You’re Too Shy (Let Me Know)” so far with the latest arriving just last week.
