The Cure play two new songs at Robert Smith's Meltdown fest

The Cure mixed in two new songs among a couple of career-spanning live sets to close out the Robert Smith-curated Meltdown festival at London’s Royal Festival Hall this past weekend. Check out some footage of the epic gigs down below.

As reported by the NME, the band — appearing as “Cureation 25” and supported by the Twilight Sad — sandwiched a pair of new songs (titled “It Can Never Be The Same” and “Step Into The Light”) in between two massive sets of Cure classics.

The first set, dubbed “From There To Here,” featured one song from each of the Cure’s 13 studio albums, in chronological order. The second set, “From Here To There,” again featured a song a piece from each, but in reverse order.

New song “It Can Never Be The Same” wound down the opening set. “From Here To There” kicked off the second set, which closed with “Boys Don’t Cry.” Check out the complete setlist after some audience footage of the show, below:
