The Damned Things are cooking up “Something Good” with new track

Supergroup the Damned Things continue to tease High Crimes, their first album since 2010, with another new single.

“Something Good” is the second track released off the new record which shuffles up the original lineup, adding Alkaline Trio bassist Dan Andriano to replace Volbeat’s Rob Caggiano and Josh Newton.

Adriano joins Every Time I Die’s Keith Buckley, Anthrax’s Scott Ian and Joe Trohman and Andy Hurley of Fall Out Boy for a new-look quintet.

Setting the tempo with an infectious chant, the track’s tone is a deceptive jam that covers dark undertones conveyed by its lyrics.

Buckley chatted with AP earlier this month to discuss the new record, which is a “complete reinvention” of the Damned Things.

“We’ve come out with something that feels like the stuff [we] should’ve been writing in the first place,” Buckley says. “This is rawer, less polished and less self-aware than last time. High Crimes is fun music with a cool attitude to it.”

High Crimes drops April 26 via Nuclear Blast Records, and preorders are available here. Check out the new song below.
