The Ghost Inside have confirmed they’re planning more live dates beyond their July comeback show, but that doesn’t mean they’ll be embarking on a full-blown tour.

The band’s show in July in Los Angeles marked their their first live performance since they were in a tragic bus crash in 2015.

In late 2015, the Ghost Inside were involved in a serious bus accident that claimed the lives of their driver and everyone in the other vehicle. Drummer Andrew Tkaczyk lost his leg from the accident, and the rest of the band and crew members were hospitalized in critical condition. The band survived the accident but have faced an arduous road to recovery since then.

The announcement of the “one night” only show marked the band’s first performance in four years, with tickets selling out five minutes after the announcement.

The band performed with opening acts This Wild Life, Trade Wind and Wage War’s Cody Quistad. They played nearly 20 songs during the sold-out gig. You can see some footage from the gig below.

Now, the band has taken to Instagram to tell fans they plan on playing more shows next year, but they’re just not ready to tour. The caption read the following:

“A month and change has gone by since our show in LA. We’ve spent most of that time together working on music and discussing the next chapter of TGI. By no means are we ready physically or mentally to do any touring, but July 13 proved to us that we are much more than capable of overcoming all of the challenges that have been placed in our way, and we are ready to play a few more shows. As the plan for when and where those will be comes together, we will continue to put all our cards on the table. We like to think we are on every part of this journey together with you. Stay tuned as the first couple of announcements will come up quick! TGI now, TGI forever,” they wrote.

In the video, the band elaborated on what that means.

“Hey everybody, we’re The Ghost Inside – checking in with you after our show in July. A lot of you are asking the question about what our future is going to hold – we’ve had a lot of long conversations about it, and we feel like the show in July is definitely not the end of our story, but the beginning of a new chapter,” they said. “We are going to try to do a few more shows next year – we’re still working out most of the details on that, but expect to pay attention, and hopefully we will see you somewhere next year… And we’re not going on tour – we’re playing a couple of shows.”

As the band mentioned, we know they’re working on new music, their first since the tragic accident.

The band shared a photo of themselves working in the studio with Fit for an Autopsy’s Will Putney and A Day to Remember’s Jeremy McKinnon.

McKinnon also produced the band’s last album, 2014’s Dear Youth, so it makes sense for them to work together again.

The new album marks their fifth full-length album and though there is no release date yet, will come out on Epitaph Records.
